Apricots
Apricots are summer fruits, delicious and nutritious. Their harvest initiates in the beginning of June until the last days of September.
Apricots have a special nutritional value, as they provide to the organism Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Potassium. They are rich in antioxidants, strengthen the bones and help to the prevention of anemia. Plus, they have less than 50 calories. Foremostly, it is essential to be eaten with the skin.
TIPS FOR CONSERVATION & AND CONSUMPTION:
- Apricots are preserved in the refrigeration for approximately 2 weeks.
- It is suggested to be consumed in ambient temperature in order to release their aroma and taste to a great extent.
- Apricots can be used in tarts, in yoghurt, in green salads, or even to be cooked with pork. Serve them with Feta cheese, balsamic vinegar and almonds for a delicious version.
